Wolf Trap National Park

Wolf Trap National Park for the Preforming Arts in Vienna, VA is best know for its open air theatre featuring fantastic shows!

But.. if you start walking through the woods, off the trails... you come across this.

I took the photo ten years ago, but painting it brought back the memories and feelings of that day!

Lemon Creek Park

New York City is known for its diverse population. But its diverse ecology including, beaches, marshes and woods, is not as well known. The south shore of Staten Island had been devastated by Superstorm Sandy in 2012 submerging this tree in over 10’ of seawater. This solitary tree at sundown, wit support in the background, symbolizes the strength and resilient characteristics of the city.

More recently, I painted more scenes of the same area from other reference photos.

Imagination #5

Another imaginary scene! I’ve always loved driving the scenic routes anywhere i go, but I’ve found myself stopping more often, as the saying goes, to smell the roses. Luckily, during the past few years, my brother older Danny (almost 83) has accompanied me on numerous day trips. Mobility issues has made us redirect our trips to more local accessible areas, this is a benefit for me … slowing down equals more photos!!! And more photos means more paintings.
