House on Kuerner Farm
The Wyeth family of artists including N.C. Wyeth, Carolyn, Wyeth, Andrew Wyeth, Jamie Wyeth and others, is very prominent in Chadds Ford, PA.
N.C. Wyeth illustrated 112 books including Robinson Crusoe, Treasure Island, Kidnapped, and Robin Hood and 3000 paintings.
Andrew Wyeth is recognized as a major artist of the 20thcentury. One third of his artworks, over 1000 paintings and drawings, center on subjects of the Brandywine area, specifically Kuerner Farm.
Jamie Wyeth known for his portrait of JFK and the landscapes and animals of the bucolic Brandywine region and mid-coast Maine.
Kuerner Farm is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and was elevated to a National Historic Landmark. Many artists, following Andrew’s lead, visit the farm to inspire their art.
I have enjoyed the art of the Wyeth’s art since my childhood reading Robin Hood and other books illustrated by N.C.
The Brandywine area yields lots of inspiration for paintings for me. I now include myself in that number of artists who visited the farm with my own painting of the House on Kuerner Farm.
